The Health Equity Working Group (HEWG) was established to advance health equity across the NOHT-ÉSON through collaboration, education, and system improvement. Bringing together representatives from health care organizations, community partners, and priority populations, the group works to identify and address barriers to care, promote inclusive and culturally safe practices, and support equitable health outcomes for all.
The HEWG promotes the use of the Health Equity Toolkit and provides implementation support to organizations looking to strengthen equity-focused practices and improve outcomes for equity-deserving populations. The Health Equity Toolkit offers practical tools, resources, and guidance to help organizations embed health equity into planning, decision-making, and service delivery. Resources include a Health Equity Report, Assessment Tool, Progress Tracker, and a collection of best practices and educational materials.
Through resource development, knowledge sharing, community engagement, and advocacy, the HEWG supports the integration of health equity principles across the health care system and works to ensure that services are responsive to the diverse needs of the communities we serve.
