The work of the Communications and Engagement Working Group (CEWG) is, as the name suggests, two-fold. Building and maintaining the web and social media sites, producing print publications, issuing media releases and public service announcements, responding to media inquiries, and facilitating efficient information flow within the NOHT-ÉSON summarizes the communications functions of the CEWG.
The CEWG’s engagement function is grounded in the conviction that people—residents of Niagara’s many communities, like you—who are affected by essential public policy decisions such as health and social care delivery, have a right to be involved in the decision-making process. To make this principle a day-to-day reality, the CEWG uses a variety of approaches to inspire people—either as individuals with lived experiences in the health and social care system or members of various communities within the Niagara region—to become actively involved in the decision-making processes of the NOHT-ÉSON. The CEWG uses state-of the art techniques outlined in our engagement framework to stimulate participation by all interested and affected parties in the health and social care decisions of the NOHT-ÉSON partnership as mandated by Ontario’s Ministry of Health.
