The Cancer Screening Task Force is dedicated to improving the health outcomes of Niagara residents by increasing the rates of breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer screenings. Early detection through screening is essential in reducing cancer-related mortality, improving treatment outcomes, and enhancing quality of life for individuals.
The group collaborates with health care providers, community organizations, and public health partners to identify barriers to screening and implement strategies to address them. By raising awareness about the importance of cancer screening, facilitating access to services, and promoting culturally sensitive approaches, the taskforce aims to ensure equitable access for all Niagara residents, including underserved and equity-deserving populations.
Through its efforts, the Cancer Screening Task Force seeks to empower individuals to take proactive steps in managing their health while fostering a more responsive and inclusive health care system in Niagara.
