Access to primary care services remains a significant challenge for thousands of residents across the Niagara region. In response, the NOHT-ÉSON, in collaboration with several partner organizations, launched a regional initiative to bridge this gap. Funded through a $2.1 million grant from the Ministry of Health in February 2024, the Primary Care Initiative Project Team aims to connect individuals without a regular family doctor or nurse practitioner to comprehensive, team-based care. This effort also integrates critical services such as mental health and addictions support, ensuring a holistic approach to health care delivery.
